Frequently Asked Questions
-
How much does it cost to have a dress custom made? Each dress is a completely unique, customized design, so the cost varies according to the individual preferences and needs of the bride. Once we have a consultation I will be able to give a pricing estimate based on the specifics of your personal design. Prices are determined depending on various factors, including the type and amount of fabric required, complexity of design and construction, and the time and labor spent. If the dress we initially design is outside of your budget, then I will happily provide suggestions for alternative options that will decrease the cost while still remaining as true to your vision as possible.

How long does it take to have a dress custom made?Since your dress will be an entirely bespoke design, it will be a longer process than choosing one of the pre-designed, mass-produced dresses found at a typical bridal store. I recommend getting a consultation as early in advance as possible, at least 4-6 months ahead of your wedding date. There must be adequate time to collaborate with you on the design, acquire the necessary materials, construct the dress by hand, and have fittings to ensure that every detail has been perfected. Out of state customers will require more time in order to account for the shipping process. I do accept orders on short notice, however there is a 30% rush fee on orders placed with a deadline of under 3 months.

Can I bring in a picture of a dress for you to copy?In order to maintain both legality and my own creative integrity, I cannot copy the design of another dress. Reference pictures are welcomed as a source of inspiration though! Photos can be used to help establish your stylistic preferences and inspire ideas for aspects of your dress, but the final product will always be a one of a kind design that is unique to each bride.

I live out of state, can I still have a dress custom made?"Individual clients are invited to a consultation which can be held via phone or Facetime. In this consult client will have the opportunity to choose style, fabrication and fit of wedding dress or lingerie. Terese Rose Designs can hand craft a variety of our styles to your specific measurements. -Detailed and accurate measurements are required before production can begin. We are happy to supply a measuring kit with tape measure and specific measuring guide. -It is recommended that measurements be taken professionally. -Measurements supplied by client are accepted on the condition that any of inaccuracies in the fit and/or specifications of the final garment are the responsibility of the client.
